Zsolt Frikker and Imre Bődi awarded the prize in the best public building category to the building of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Semmelweis University in Budapest, which was realized by LAKI Épületszobrász Zrt.
Ferenc Répás DLA, Ybl Prize-winning architect, representing the jury, gave an assessment of the building of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Semmelweis University in Budapest. “With the nearly 5,000 square metre extension, they wanted to remove the feeling of incompletion, to create a contemporary building by deriving all their decisions from the existing building. The new building does not just connect to the existing building complex, it does much more than that: it creates internal flows and movement. In today’s insufferably eclectic architectural thought, it is this strikingly pure, sensitive and receptive, strong and ethical architectural thinking that led the jury to unanimously recommend it as the winner of the Public Building category.”

In recent years, Santa Claus has only been able to deliver parcels to the children with the delivery of their parents, but this year he was able to greet them in person again.
We have also prepared some activities to welcome the little ones, such as crafts and face painting.

For the twenty-third time in 2023, the Construction Industry Award is announced by the Foundation For Constructors’ Masterworks on behalf of and with the authority of the Founders and Affiliated Partners.
This year, LAKI Épületszobrász Zrt. and its consortium partner Possibuild Kft. won the award in the category of monument restoration and rehabilitation.
During the reconstruction, in addition to the office, meeting and other service rooms necessary for the work of the Hungarian Corvin Chain Board, spaces suitable for holding events, libraries and music rooms, a representative reception hall, a cooking and a galley suitable for receiving guests, and 5 apartments of high quality were also created. The restoration of the villa was to be carried out with the technical and quality content required to make it a worthy home for the institution, with the spare capacity available to host public, community and social programmes. A memorial was erected to Count István Tisza, the former Prime Minister of Hungary, who was murdered in this house. The renewed functional content follows the original conditions. The completed building serves as a model for other similarly ill-fated villa buildings awaiting reconstruction.

The "Interior Designer of the Year" award, founded by Péter Laki in 1998, was presented for the twenty-first time on Tuesday 30 May, on the 25th anniversary of its foundation, in a ceremony hosted by the House of Architects.
As an honour guest, the ceremony was attended by Regő Lánszki, Secretary of State for Architecture at the ÉKM (Ministry of Building and Transport).
The "Interior Designer of the Year" is awarded by the Interior Design Section of the Hungarian Chamber of Architects to the designer of interior design work that it considers to be outstanding and of special design value.
The honorary title "Interior Designer of the Year 2019-2021", presented in 2023, was awarded to György Ottlik for his reconstruction of the Bauhaus-style villa on Dániel Street in Budapest (architect: Péter Lenzsér).
"During the design process, we were trying to bring back the crafts and handicraft approach, which is the essence of the so-called "Werkstätten" (workshops) spirit of the Bauhaus era in the 1920s and 30s." – the winner said.
The award ceremony, which was founded by Péter Laki as a private initiative, has become a permanent meeting point for the architectural and interior design profession and for the representatives of the construction and building industry. Through the energy, perseverance, consistency and, last but not least, the prize that has been awarded over the past 25 years.
In addition to the gilded bronze commemorative plaque certifying the award, the winner received a reward of one million five hundred thousand HUF from Judit O. Ecker, co-chair of the jury, and the founder, Péter Laki, CEO of LAKI Épületszobrász Zrt.
The jury specifically mentioned and praised Sarolta Bihary for the interior design of the Hungarian Money Museum, which she had designed.
A further 9 entries were received, all of which were impressive reconstructions:

The Roman Catholic Church in Tarhos, designed by Péter Kornél Horváth. "The building was structurally complete when the architect Gábor Lipcsei asked me to design the interior.
